About the Product
Bahera, botanically designated as Terminalia bellirica (syn. Myrobalanus bellirica), is a large deciduous tree belonging to the Combretaceae family, native to the plains and sub-Himalayan tracts of South Asia. In Unani and Greco-Arabic medicine, Bahera (Balela) constitutes one of the classical "Atrifalat" cornerstones and is classified as having a Cold and Dry (Barid-o-Yabis, 1st to 2nd degree) temperament. Prized primarily for the dried rind (pericarp) of its fruit, Bahera is recognized for its astringent (Qabiz), tonic (Muqawwi), and phlegm-resolving (Muqatte-e-Balgham) properties. It acts as an indispensable botanical for clearing excess visceral moisture, arresting unnatural secretions, pacifying digestive heat, and preserving head-and-neck sensory strength.
